Bible Story: Confession and Forgiveness (Psalm 32)

Pray together!
Make it - check out our suggested art activity.
Move it - to have some fun, move around, and reinforce the big idea!
The Big Idea
I can thank God for family who help me. This week we saw Aaron help his brother, Moses. Moses was tired and couldn’t hold his arms up anymore, but Aaron came through and saved the day--or at least Moses’ arms. This week each day you see someone in your family say, “Thank You, God!” Did big brother help you tie your shoes? Thank You, God! Did Mom, Dad, or someone else in your family read you a book? Thank You God! Did Grandma give you a bandaid? Thank You, God!
Memory Verse
Give thanks (put your hands together like you are praying)
to the Lord (point up to the sky)
for He is good. (put two thumbs up in front of you)
Psalm 107:1 (hold hands like an open book)
God gave us the words of the Bible to show us who He is!
Practice the verse a few times! In Mission Kids, we often practice saying it different ways, like reallllyyyy sllowwwllyyyy, SUPER LOUD, or with a roar!
Talk it through together
What were the names of the brothers in the story? (Moses and Aaron)
What happened when Moses would hold up his hands? (The Israelites would start winning the battle)
What happened when Moses would put his hands down? (The Israelites would start losing the battle.)
How long did Moses need to keep his arms up? (A really long time.)
What happened to Moses’ arms after a long time? (They started to get tired.)
Who came to help Moses? (His brother Aaron and friend Hur.)
Did the Israelites win the battle? (yes)
How does it make you feel when someone in your family helps you?
Pray Together
PRAYER JOURNAL // Today, make a list of family who help us. Have your kiddo pick one person from the list you made and draw their picture or write their name on a piece of paper.
Now pray with your kiddo, you can use the one below or say your own.
“Dear God, family is such a special gift you have given us. We are so thankful for the way family help us. We want to thank you for the way [family name] helps us. I pray we will help our family, too. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
